In the early nineties Robert Krueger studied Mathematics in Munich. These studies involved strong focus on abstract models of the world and thus amplified Robert’s passion for Black & White photography as a way to represent the world structured to personal views.
Glued to his Hasselblad Robert was traveling the world on countless trips during the semester breaks. Then back home endless hours were spent in the in the darkroom. Developing a sound technique and relentlessly searching for a way to further add personal structure to the film negatives. Robert Mapplethorpe and Albert Watson being his heroes of that time.
After university Robert pursued a career in global management consultancy where a camera still joined him on every trip and the weekends still were spent in the darkroom.
Since 2023 Robert focuses full time on art & photography.
An initial focus on landscape photography switched over time to picturing structures and sculptures. Setting in scene sculptural artwork in context with the flow of human existence became the center of Robert’s work.
Robert started in 2010 to add digital techniques to his workflow. Since then his work is a mix of Digital and Analog Techniques, for the negatives and positives alike. Robert lives and works in Munich.
